Level 2: Local Community Programs

POWER multi-level approach will enable your community to align with Riley Hospital for Children and identify your hospital as a leader in childhood weight management:

  • Physician education and empowerment by providing physicians/primary-care providers with the tools to perform basic evaluation, counseling, and referral source for obese children.
  • Facilitate community partnerships and initiate evidenced/researched based programming in your community for physicians to refer patient and their families to, so as to provide high quality weight management programs in local communities.
  • Utilize the POWER clinic as a referral source for local practitioners and hospital specialties. The POWER Clinic serves the state of Indiana as a tertiary care clinic for children and adolescents to combat obesity at Riley Hospital for Children/Clarian Health.
