Advancing the science of cardiovascular treatment

The Riley Heart Center is a place not only of treatment and healing, but also of inquiry and investigation. Research is active and ongoing, involving surgical technique and technology, as well as interventional and diagnostic technology. Clinicians and researchers are creating and leading early-stage studies of pharmacological and surgical treatments, and genetic studies are helping to identify molecular treatments for pediatric heart diseases.

Riley's pediatric cardiothoracic surgery and cardiology staffs regularly attend and present topics at national cardiovascular care conferences. They are recognized leaders in the expansion of pediatric cardiology and pediatric cardiac surgical knowledge, and they have authored or co-authored hundreds of published articles and book chapters that have reshaped care and treatment.

Clinical investigations that offer treatments unavailable anywhere else are underway at Riley. Nearly every day, the knowledge grows on how to identify, treat and prevent cardiac, vascular, thoracic and pulmonary disease in children of all ages.
